Born in a little village in the Gujarat state of India, I came to the UK when I was 2 years old. I grew up in London and studied A level sciences, with the intention of going to university to become a Doctor. But, life had other plans for me and as part of a traditional Indian family, my marraige was arranged and at the time I envisioned I would probably be a housewife for the rest of my life. The problem was that living in London my husband and I needed two incomes to survive. Not wanting to leave my children I determined to become a work at home mother and chose an intensive beauty therapy course that lasted about 6 months. My aptitude for massage came as a bit of a surprise to me, but it was a sign of a dedication to health and healing I had never even thought I had. 30 years on, I was the work at home mum and whilst I watched my daughters grow up I became the beauty therapist, the nail technician, the complementary therapist, the healer, the medical massage therapist. The Yoga teacher, the clinician and the psychologist.
I planned more study, as an osteopath, and perhaps moving still forward onto a pHD. But after completing the masters in applied positive psychology, I suddenly felt like I had come full circle, like the degree gave credibility to the years of training I'd been doing. In October 2017 I came to the decision that I wanted to consolidate all my experience, all my skills and put everything under one roof to bring wellbeing to as many people as might want my help.
