About Paul Stinson

I've never written a biography before but this is me - From a village called Glenfield near Leicester, last school was Longslade Community College in Birstall, started work in 1982 / 1983 at Leicestershire County Council in the print room. Learnt a lot about printing with LCC and went to the Leicester School of Printing and gained a City & Guilds 517. Left the council after 4 years and went on to be a Service Engineer fixing print machines first then plan printers and microfilm cameras. Fell into sales by default, I worked for a German company in Abingdon our salesman left and the MD asked me if I'd consider taking the job on, he reasoned that I was a good listener, well presented, likeable, honest and concientious all the attributes that he wanted from a representative of the company. I said yes and 27 years later here I am! So much has changed since the early 80's and technology has leapt light years ahead - just look at your mobile phone today, it's a computer you carry in your pocket! The same has happened in print, the things you take for granted now like large format colour printers didn't exist it was all photographic prints and sign writing!

What am I passionate about? Printing of course, keeping up to date with the technology and then delivering quaity work on time at a reasonable price. In my personal life I love a good holiday it can be a week in a cottage in Devon or a fortnight in Greece in an apartment, good food, sunshine and sharing time with my wife and daughter. When it's not holidays I enjoy watching Rugby Union (Leicester Tigers of course!), I still play 5 a side football - quite badly sometimes with the odd moment of brilliance! And finally I can't think of anything better than Sunday lunch in a village pub with old friends, a few drinks and a good log fire!
